Walk In Love

Uncategorized

“Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”

-Ephesians‬ ‭5:1-2‬ ‭

So many Christians live a life dipping their feet in the world and Jesus. But the thing is…you can’t have both.
In order to be OF this world (to live pleasing it and its lovers) you must have your eyes off Jesus. How can it be that you consider yourself a follower of Christ, walking in His way, while blatantly sinning to experience the “pleasures” of the world?

What I love so much abt Ephesians 5:1-2 is not just those two verses, but the ones after it.

We are called to be set apart. Yet so often we find ourselves drowning in the sea of sin that the world is desperately calling us towards, simply because we went a little farther than a toe-dip in.

I’m not saying as Christians, you never sin again. I’m saying as Christians, it is our duty to not turn from Sin to No Sin…but from Sin to Jesus.

When you rest your heart in God’s hands, the temptations will not disappear, nor will your battles fade in the slightest. But the difference between you fighting it as a Christian is that you have the God of Angel armies on your side. You have Him to carry the burden and fight alongside you when you feel like you are nearly defeated.

In verses 7-8 we are called to be the lights of the world…how can we do so if we give in to what society says is Okay instead of what God says is Okay?

Take your foot out of the sea of worldliness and take a moment to acknowledge that life is eternal. And frankly it’s up to your decisions NOW that determine where that eternity will be spent.

When you find that true light of Christ…don’t stop sharing it until everyone you encounter hears it. Be the light of the world…show them that sometimes what they need is not at all what they thought.

True love is found in Yahweh….not the worlds way.
