The Beginning

In a world so captivated by their own reputation and desperately searching for WHO we are, we lose the passion and desire to pursue WHOSE we are…

For the past year I have thrown around the verse Acts 20:24 as my “life verse” without actually applying it to my life as it should be. I may talk to people about Jesus here and there but what I, and seemingly so many others, constantly miss, is the fact that being the extended hands and feet of Christ is far more than telling someone Jesus loves them. It’s glorifying God in every breath, move, and decision we make.

Alongside that, if I were to tell a person that Jesus loves them but they do not know anything about Christianity, or just know the basics, what good does that do? It has absolutely no significance to a person who doesn’t know who Jesus is. And if I were to tell them that Jesus died for them (without mentioning the cost of sin), it would again- have no significance.

The thing that so many Christians, including myself sometimes, seem to forget, is that the Gospel is made of Grace + Truth.

Yes, living for Christ means loving everyone, but it also means directing them in truth. No one wants to talk about the weight of sin because it’s terrible, but if there is no mention of a fatal destiny for a life full of sin, then there is no significance in Jesus’ life nor death.

When describing Jesus, we shouldn’t just mention who He is…but who He is COMPARED to us. By seeing His holiness vs our brokenness, people will begin to acknowledge the true gift it was to have Jesus take our place in the cross.

This year, I hope to live out Acts 20:24…
“However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me…the task of testifying to the Good News of God’s Grace.”

I am thankful to have this platform. So this year, I want to use it to share the one name that’s worth being praised.
Happy New Year.
